John Kinder is Emeritus Professor of Italian at the University of Western Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities. A distinguished scholar and lecturer, he is widely admired for his ability to illuminate works of art—literary and musical alike—by drawing out their philosophical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. His Wounded by Beauty lectures are known for their depth, clarity, and capacity to transform the listening experience.
Through Professor Kinder’s perceptive insights and commentary—illustrated with excerpts performed live—the audience is led into the inner world of the music, discovering its structure, emotional depth, and expressive power.
